Please CALL your Congressman and urge them to support H.R.2702 – The Suspend Brazil GSP Act, which was introduced to the House of Representatives by Congressman Chris Smith on June 4, 2009. The bill would suspend the General System of Preferences with Brazil until it complies with the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction. GSP is a desired trade status which allows certain goods to enter US duty-free. Last year, Brazil gleaned free benefits on $2.7 billion worth of trade with the U.S.
